Lori Drew - Megan Meier: Banas to Release Statement on Case
Friday, November 30, 2007
According to radio news reports on KMOX this morning, St Charles County Prosecutor Jack Banas will be making a statement next week in regards to the Lori Drew - Megan Meier case.
All I can say is that if he comes back empty handed, his chances of re-election are slim to none.

Are Our Priorities Straight?
Tuesday, November 27, 2007
You can't turn on a newscast in St Louis without half the coverage being devoted to the University of Missouri's #1 ranking in football.
However, what they are not saying--and is perhaps more newsworthy--is that Missouri is #47 in funding for higher education.

Update on Lori Drew
Still no word from County PA Jack Banas on whether he can figure out his butt from a hole in the ground and charge Lori Drew.
However, the Post reported that over the weekend there was a vigil/protest on the Meier's/Drew's block.

Another Incident that makes you go: "WTF, America"
Tuesday, November 20, 2007
On the heels of the Megan Meiers story, where an adult takes her teenage girls school issues into ther own hands, we have Crazy Joe Horn of Pasadena, TX.
If you haven't heard this guy's story, go to CBSNEWS which has the transcripts of the 911 call included in their story. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/11/17/national/main3517564.shtml?source=mostpop_story
Most distressing are the comments associated with this story. This is the part that makes me go "WTF, America?"
People are cheering this guy who intentionally goes out and shoots two home burglars. Who, by the way, are NOT burglarizing his home but of a neighbor in which he is not even close.
People say this guy had every right to shoot. That this is covered under the Castle Doctrine.
What?! I think the "Castle Doctrine" applies to your own home, not your neighbors.
Joe Horn was told multiple times not to take any action by the police. Joe Horn blatently disregarded orders by the police to stay in his home. Joe Horn could have easily shot some innocent child playing in the neighborhood that day.
Since when does the death penalty apply to home burglary? According to Joe Horn's warped sense of vigilante justice, it most certainly applies.
Joe Horn, go directly to prison and do not pass go. Do not collect $200.
The only good thing that might come of this is that states might now repeal their Castle Doctrine Laws since idiots like Joe Horn seem to think it applies at any time, at any place.

Will Lori Drew go to Prison?
Friday, November 16, 2007
Looks like Jack Banas finally is getting off his tush and looking into the suicide of Megan Meiers. According to the local newspaper (Suburban Journals), it looks like the St Charles County Prosecutor is finally going to begin an investigation on Lori Drew.
For those of you out-of-the-loop, Lori Drew is the evil woman who went online, posing as a teenager to lure Megan Meiers. Subsequently, Megan took her own life.
There isn't a dark enough corner of a jail cell that is fit for this woman. I hope she rots.
And then I hope they charge her 18-year-old accomplice, though I am not sure that person deserves prison. Granted this person was doing their employers bidding, however this person is old enough to know to walk away when the employer asks you to do wrong.

Megan Meier--this is an outrage!
Wednesday, November 14, 2007
Have you read the story about Megan Meier, yet? It was in this week's Journal and is linked here.
Read it first before reading the rest of my comments (so that you understand where I am coming from).
Have you read it yet?
OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First let me say that I really don't think this is MySpace's fault or makes MySpace usage a bad thing. If someone wants to do such crazy stuff they could have done it "back in the day" the old fashioned way via telephone, telegram or even USPS/Pony Express.
I am outraged that there is no law that this falls under. Stalking is stalking, preying on a child is preying on a child. If this adult was some perv who sexually abused Megan they would be in jail. But because it was psychological and emotional abuse it is perfectly legal? I think not!
The adults who did this should be on child abuser registries, not allowed to volunteer in schools, not allowed anywhere near children except their own (and even that I think should be investigated).
