The writing is on the wall sky

Monday, July 09, 2007
A few weeks ago, I had commented to some friends that you don't see skywriting anymore. Matter-of-fact, it has probably been 20 years since I have seen it. I assumed this was because it was considered an unnecessary air pollutant or something similar.

Well, mark me wrong. Geico packed their trove of cavemen into 5 planes and they commenced to marketing to the St. Louis area. They wrote "Great Rates-Geico.com". However, isntead of one plane they used 5 and so it was written in block writing.

I saw it while I was at the very empty pool on Saturday. I pointed it out to the lifeguard, commenting again how I hadn't seen it in a while. The lifeguard didn't have to make me feel like a granny when she said "I've never seen skywriting before. Wow!"
