Anytime Movies
Sunday, January 21, 2007
There are movies that I will watch any and everytime I happen to catch them on television. They are usually "chick flicks", but they all hold that familiar appeal that is great for those Winter weekend days when you have a crock pot full of chili cooking and you don't want to move your ass off the couch.
Here is my current list of "anytime movies". They are in no particular order. Well, they are in the order that the came to mind.
Steel Magnolias The Parent Trap (either the old or new versions) Notting Hill O Brother Where Art Thou Superman (any version) Bridget Jones's Diary (both I and II) You've Got Mail Meet Me in St Louis Ocean's 11 (and 12) Bachelor Mother The Major and the Minor Send Me No Flowers Move Over, Darling The Thrill of it All Lover Come Back Pillow Talk The Notebook Grease (and Grease 2) Somewhere in Time Moonstruck The Princess Bride Fried Green Tomatoes Prelude to a Kiss The American President Love, Actually Pride and Prejudice (the BBC mini-series version) Sense and Sensibility Clueless Waiting to Exhale Beautiful He Said/She Said Runaway Bride Circle of Friends The Lake House Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood Magdalene Sisters 10 Things I Hate About You The Deep End of the Ocean Age of Innocence Dangerous Liasons Drive Me Crazy Never Been Kissed 50 First Dates Kate and Leopold
Any Cary Grant movie but especially That Touch of Mink The Awful Truth The Philadelphia Story Bringing Up Baby My Favorite Wife An Affair to Remember People Will Talk Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream Home Arsenic and Old Lace Once Upon a Honeymoon His Girl Friday
Gosh, that's a big list! And I probably forgot a few dozen. Thankfully, my time is limited and these movies are not on television every day.
The list did get me thinking about work. I think I will swing by Blockbuster and pickup Steel Magnolias. I can show it for my Monday Movie group tomorrow. Then again, I know every line of this movie and could probably just perform it for the patients.
