A Very Practical Christmas
Thursday, January 05, 2006
So, I literally begged everyone to either buy me something very practical or do not buy me anything at all. I have so much crap/junk/stuff that I didn't need to add to the collection. I didn't want clothes (I mean, who is someone to buy me clothes--are you telling me what to wear?) unless they were practial anytime clothes such a sweatshirts or t-shirts. Stuff I could wear to the gym or just around the house.
Well, everyone (almost) got it right. I did tell my mother that I would like some sweatshirts. I gave her the size. I told her when they were on sale at K-Mart and exactly where in the store they were located. She can't find them at K-Mart. She goes to Steve and Barry's at Northwest Plaza. She buys sweatshirts a size too small.
Again, I have told her what size. And, yes, it was a size larger than I normally where but I specifically told her I wanted them to wear as part of a multi-layer outfit. Like if I decided to workout outdoors. I can't wear a coat but I want to wear a bunch of layers. Her reasoning was that the ones in the size I requested were "odd colors" and she like the colors in the size she bought better. Well, as long as you like the colors what does it matter if its in the wrong size?! Why did she waste her time when she knew I would say to return them? I guess when you are retired you really have nothing better to do.
