Work sucks!

Friday, August 20, 2004
Work has completely sucked this week. It is the last week before classes start so everyone is trying to do the stuff they put off all summer. One of these things was setting some new rules and regulations for the library. Yesterday when I arrived there was an e-mail from Candance (yes, stupid stupid Candance) that said something about a sign she was making with rules and regulations for the library. She stated her proposal and wanted feedback.
Well, for once we had some communication in the library! Three people responded all giving opinions without being bitchy. The only thing close was when I said something about not using signs as a crutch to avoid face-to-face contact with the students. Not really bitchy at all! It was more of a "how to improve patron service" commentary.
Anyway, Liz sends an e-mail out saying pretty much she didn't care what anyone thought. That the sign was going up as she wanted it to go up and it was to be on nice linen paper. Several points:
1) What a bitch!
2) Why did Candance ask for feedback if it wasn't going to be used? (But then again this is stupid, stupid Candance.)
3) I went to Liz and stated that I felt for once we were openly communicating, that noone was being rude, insenstivie or bitchy and WE WERE ASKED FOR FEEDBACK! Her reply: "I'm having a bad day". Oh, how managerial of you to take it out on your employees!
4) The "nice linen paper" turned out to be card stock that Candance (yes, stupid stupid Candance) and Corrie bought at OfficeMax. First, we already have tons of cardstock here even in the color they bought. Secondly, do you really need to buy a whole ream of card stock for a few signs? Thirdly, card stock is not nice linen paper. Which I guess this is what will happen when you send a stupid, stupid person and a young twit to go run an errand.

P.S. Having stupid, stupid and young twit run the errand was pointless since I had already stated I was going to OfficeMax to return a USB jump drive. Then, I could have gotten the nice linen paper or pointed out that we have PLENTY of cardstock.
