School's out for the weekend...

Thursday, August 26, 2004
Well, wish it was out for the summer but out for the weekend will do. Finished my first week of classes and it appears to be manageable.

Math
Taking another math class. Like that it keeps my mind sharp and warms up my "logic" circuits. I have Tom again for class so I knew going in the instructor was cool. We have a quiz in class on Tuesday so I will have to really work on the homework Saturday and Sunday.
The only downside to this class is that it is two hours long. But, since it is my first class it seems like you spend the first half just getting into the groove of listening to lecture.

Flash
This instructor is hard to pinpoint. She seems cool but that she doesn't take any shit. I say this because one student today spent the first part of the class drawing some elaborate eagle and was not working on any of the things she was showing us during the hands-on lecture. I hope this class will be an "A", but it is the unknown of all of my classes this semester. My text book just arrive today so I have plenty of homework to do my assignments that are due on Tuesday. (I might even have to come into work on Monday to get some of these done. eek!) Having the books will give me an idea of how tough the class will be.

History
I am taking the first part of Western Civ. I took the second part two semesters ago (I know, I know do I do anything in the right order?!) . I have the same teacher and she has a good lecture style and incorporates a lot of humor into the subject. I see no problem maintaining my 4.0 GPA with this class since I am accustomed to her classroom and tests.

Side note: Darn, Casey just hit a home run for the Reds. :(

Phi Theta Kappa
Tuesday the school had an "organization" day. I spoke with Margaret who will be the president of Phi Theta Kappa this semester. I told her my concerns on not getting an invitation. She gave me information on upcoming meeting and the induction ceremony. If I don't have anything in the mail by Tuesday I am dropping by her office to at least get the application paperwork.
