Yesterday was a sad day. Not just for me, but for Democrats in Missouri. Yesterday, Governor Bob Holden lost his primary election.
Such election losses always make me feel I did not do enough. Should I have made more phone calls? Should I have talked to more people about what Bob Holden has done for the working people of Missouri?
This great man was bullied, steam rollered, and beat up by a power hungry Republican legislature. Under his leadership, Missouri is number one in job growth. He saved $270 million dollars for education. He kept the Republican legislators, who as part-time employees had full state-paid health coverage, from kicking off tens of thousands of poor children off of medicaid.
Yesterday Missouri suffered a huge loss. Yesterday was a sad day.
