Rant on the People I work with Part 2

I have been holding this rant in hoping that I might get over it. Last week there was a conference for academic librarians. I think I might have stated that before. Almost everyone went except for 3 members of the staff.

Our library is open 12 hours each day during the summer. This could be easily divided into 4 hours per person to work the circulation desk. Easily.

However, Candance refuses to come out of her office most of the time. This is bad enough, but the kicker was that on two times that she came actually out of her office and strolled by the circulation desk she comments on how cold it is in her office.
The circ desk is in an open area with high ceilings--it is never cool in the summer time or very warm in the winter. You think she would come work her time at the circ desk just to warm up. But noooooo.

So, when she takes off on Friday claiming a doctor's appointment (why would you schedule that during this conference?) it really made no difference that it was only Mark and I running the library.
