Inane Conversations Part 3

Sunday, September 28, 2008
Scene: In the electronics department at Target looking at DVD player totes. To my right is a bank of 20 televisions all on the same channel, now playing some sort of Phillips' Milk of Magnesia advertisement.

TV Commercial: What is your colon saying to you?

Me (while browsing): I'm not sure, we get "crappy" reception.

Family in next aisle howling with laughter.

Inane online conversation

Sunday, September 07, 2008
Online conversation from last Friday (after McCain announced his VP choice).

Dude: Do you find it ironic that McCain's choice has a last name that rhymes with Stalin?

Me: Was listening to her speech on NPR. They/she prounounced it Palin, with long a. As in "pale in comparison to other, more qualified candidates for the vice presidential nomination".

Inane Converstion with my Mother, Part I

Wednesday, September 03, 2008
Scene: Moms is watching the Weather channel, I am installing some stuff on her computer.

Me: Hurricane Ike, hmm. I wonder how long until someone refers to the storm as Ike Turner?

Mom: Or President Eisenhower. (always trying to get in the right-wing viewpoint)

Me: Gosh, Mom. I don't think someone will refer to a storm as "I Like Ike". I do see someone saying "that storm beat down on me like Ike beat Tina".
