Good News: There is only three weeks left in the semester.
Bad News related to that: need to get my act together on all of these research papers and finalize them!

Time to be whiggin'
Oooh....it's been so busy this week. I am trying to do both my high school and elementary observation. Do the work with the Junior Achievement that is required for my elementary observation and study for a test in History of Film this week.
The good thing is that I think I aced the test in History of Film.
The bad thing is that I just remembered an assignement due tomorrow for Intro to Classroom Teaching. I should be able to squeeze that in while at BABW tonight. I can always stay there until I get it done as it's not major (maybe an hour or so of work) just forgotten.
Aaaghh....

You silly kids suck!
Wednesday, April 13, 2005
Yesterday, my History of Film class sucked so bad!!!! Somehow, the discussion was tuned to Julia Roberts or something and talking about her age. These stupid (stupid, stupid) kids in the class were all like "we don't want to see her--she's old" . The class (mostly 19-year-old boys) then carried on further about how they only want to see hot chicks and would only want to see some woman over forty if she still looked great. The conversation then went down a path of how women over forty are pretty much worthless and then further digressed into some snide comments about sex and sexuality in movies.
First, these students are not all that. Not one would be mistaken for a male model. Quite to the contrary, most look as if they have been beaten by an ugly stick (hard AND often).
Second, do they not realize I am in this class?! Do they really think that women over forty have no worth?! Should I just drop out of school now?! I am sure their mothers (who provide them a home and probably still do their laundry) would love to hear there views.
Third, I am no prude. Those who know me would laugh at that thought. I would have no problem with a discussion of sexuality in movies. However, these kids can't discuss this like adults. It was like being in a high school locker room.
Fourth, what the fuck Mr. Berry?! He should have stopped that conversation from the get go, but just let it go on. And he had to know I was pissed because he said something about it afterwards. Hello? I shouldn't have to spell out why I didn't like the class conversation. All I could say was that some people open their mouths and prove that they are stupid.
Fifth, the only good thing is after the class I was behind two of the guys from class. Both sit in my row and one is a bit older than the traditional 19 year old in the class. When the younger guy asked him why he wasn't participating in the discussion he replied "I know when to keep my mouth shut." Now, there's a guy with some sense!
